DarPiano offers several main modes: Practice, Play, Gamification, Blind mode, and Conferences. Each mode serves its own purpose — from independent piece learning to remote lessons with a teacher.
Practice
Mode for learning pieces without strict rhythm requirements. You play at a comfortable tempo, and the app checks note accuracy: correct notes light up green, mistakes light up red.
Best for:
- First introduction to a piece
- Working on difficult fragments
Main features: part selection (right hand, left hand, or both hands), metronome, cyclic repetition of fragments, «Show errors» function.
Additional notation display settings available.
Sustain pedal support included.
Play
Mode for reinforcing material with rhythm alignment. The goal is to master the rhythmic structure of the piece.
Best for:
- Training rhythmic accuracy
- Checking piece readiness
Main features: playback for listening, part selection, metronome, cyclic repetition of fragments, notation display view, «Show errors» function.
Gamification
Additional mode available in Practice and Play. Adds gamification: you earn points for note accuracy.
Best for:
- Staying motivated
- Making repetition more engaging
- Tracking progress numerically
Blind mode
Additional mode available in Practice and Play. In this mode, the sheet music is hidden.
Best for:
- Final practice of playing from memory
Can be combined with Gamification mode, and you can check performance accuracy using the «Show errors» function.
Conference
Mode for remote lessons with video calls. Teacher and student see each other, work with shared sheet music in real time, and audio is transmitted through the internal engine.
Best for:
- Online theory lessons
- Piano practice lessons
Main features: multiple cameras, shared sheet music access, chat.
