System requirements and recommended setup

Supported platforms

Currently, DarPiano runs on:

  • Desktop Web — Google Chrome browser on PC (Windows, macOS, Linux);
  • Android — Chrome browser or app (APK).

Priority platform: Google Chrome on PC — full functionality is available here without limitations.

Known limitations:

  • On iOS/Chrome, MIDI device connection issues may occur.

Option 1: Digital piano + tablet

  • Digital piano with MIDI output (Type-C or USB-B);
  • Wooden piano stand;
  • Tablet (Android or iOS);
  • USB cable (printer-style) to connect piano to tablet.

Option 2: MIDI keyboard + laptop

  • MIDI keyboard (49–88 keys, USB-MIDI);
  • Two-tier keyboard stand;
  • Laptop (Windows, macOS);
  • USB cable to connect keyboard to laptop.

Option 3: Digital piano + laptop/tablet

  • Digital piano with Type-C MIDI input;
  • Laptop or tablet;
  • Type-C USB cable or adapter (if needed).

Option 4: Digital piano + PC

  • Digital piano with USB-MIDI;
  • Desktop PC;
  • USB cable for connection.

Important notice for Android

On most Android devices, you may experience audio latency with the built-in DarPiano synthesizer. This is especially noticeable during real-time play.

Recommendation:

  • Disable the built-in synthesizer sound in the app settings.
  • Practice using your digital piano’s native sound.

This will ensure better synchronization between key press and sound.

Minimum requirements

  • Browser: Google Chrome (latest version);
  • RAM: 4 GB (8 GB recommended);
  • Connection: USB port for MIDI device or Bluetooth MIDI (if supported);
  • Internet: required for loading sheet music and saving progress.
